Many people put investing and gambling into the same category. These are two very different concepts. With gambling, there is a winner and a loser. Each side is hoping the other person loses. With investing, you are usually supporting a company with capital in return for the potential increase of your funds. Most investments are hoping for a win-win situation. Gambling is usually based on luck and very short time horizons. Investing should be based on strategy and long-term time horizons.
